Introduction to SMS

Find out how to create and use SMS templates and SMS reminders in Adversus.

Written by Line Jensen

In Adversus, you can send SMS to different people. Using SMS in Adversus can be an effective way to send SMS because it allows sending SMS based on triggers, e.g., once a lead is saved as a success, you send an automatic SMS.

Besides SMS triggered by events, the SMS in Adversus works generically. This means that the SMS in Adversus can be generated based on the lead data you have. This is beneficial when you have standard templates you wish to customize based on the lead's information.

SMS in Adversus is split into two things:

SMS templates

SMS templates are standard SMS' on a campaign that can be sent based on triggers, or sent out manually via the dialer. You can choose between sending a standard SMS or allowing the agent to edit it before sending.

  1. Go to Messages and Templates.

  2. Click Create template in the upper-right corner, then select SMS template. Now you are ready to compose. The procedure is almost the same as when you create an SMS reminder (see below).

You find an overview of existing templates by clicking SMS templates in the top menu.

SMS reminders

SMS reminders are reminders that are sent to the lead before an appointment which are booked in Adversus. SMS reminders are only useful if you have integrated a calendar and are booking meetings directly in it through Adversus.

  1. Go to Settings and Campaigns, and click SMS reminder for the campaign you want to add your reminder.

  2. Click on Messages in the top menu, and select SMS reminders from the dropdown. Now it's time to create.

How to create SMS templates and reminders

  1. Compose your message in the editor. You can customize it by using merge tags. Merge tags are useful for personalization. For example, if your SMS should start with "Dear (customer name)", merge tags for the customer name can be found in the list below the editor. Please note that the merge tag for lead master data and result data is different depending on your specific fields.

  2. When you're done composing, choose the data source (merge tag) for the Sender and Recipient under Details to the right.

  3. Finally, adjust settings:

a) For SMS templates: Choose if the SMS should be Editable in the dialer, add Tags (not mandatory), and choose if you want it to be sent automatically on success, on not interested, or on maximum call attempts reached. Save when you're done.

b) For SMS reminders: Choose when the reminder should be sent: The same day, 1 day before, 2 days before, or hours before, or Set a specific time. Save when you're done.
