Campaign segmentation

Introduction

To manage campaign segments, first create segments in the Segment Builder. To find a detailed description of how to use Segment Builder click here.

Using campaign segmentation is useful if you want more control over leads within your campaigns. It also allows you to manipulate the way in which you contact your leads, if you pause a segment, the leads in that segment will not be contacted until the segment is manually activated again.

If you are here, you have already built your segments and are looking for help managing them.

1. Go to Settings and choose Campaigns on the menu on the left.

2. At the top of the left, you will see the Segments field.

3. Select Manage segments from the dropdown options.

There, you should be able to see an overview of your existing campaign segments and pause or activate them. So, let's briefly cover what each field means.

  • ID - provides the ID of the segment.

  • Type- provides the name of the segment type applied.

  • Name- provides the given name for the segment (e.g. Leads from the US).

  • Total- accounts for the total number of leads within the segment.

  • Unprocessed- accounts for the total number of unprocessed leads within the given segment.

  • Processed- accounts for the number of processed leads within a given segment.

  • Open- accounts for the number of open leads within a given segment.

  • Closed- accounts for the number of closed leads with a given segment.

  • State- indicates the state of the segment: whether it is paused or active.

Pause and activate segments

The ability to pause and activate segments is the most important feature of campaign segmentation.

You can make your segments Active or Paused by clicking the Active/Paused icon on the right side.

Paused

Leads in the paused segments will not be available in the dialer. Be aware that if you paused a segment that had leads with callbacks within a segment, the automatic callback will also be deactivated. Hence, those callbacks must be conducted manually without receiving an automatic reminder of the callback time.

Active

Leads in the active segments will be available in the dialer. The callbacks within the segment will function as usual.

Example

A campaign can be segmented by location. If your company is based in Aarhus, your priority might be to contact leads located in Aarhus first. In such a case, you could build a Contact Data type segment and segment leads on the location criteria.

To contact leads in Aarhus first, you could pause segments for leads in other locations. Accordingly, only the leads in the Aarhus segment will be accessible in the dialer. The same process can be repeated for other locations or other types of segments or criteria.
