How to get notified when an Inbound SMS has been received

Adversus does not have a built-in system to notify you whenever an inbound SMS is received, but we do have a workaround you can set up, depending on how you would like to be informed.

You set it up by creating an SMS journey that triggers when an inbound SMS is received. After that, you can decide how your agents are notified, whether it be via. email or a text message.







First, make sure you have an SMS/email template set up to notify your agent when an inbound text is received.

In the template, you can write "Inbound SMS received from" And use the mergetag - [lead_id]





This will let your agent know which lead the inbound SMS was sent to.

Once you have created your template, you would like to send out, here is how you proceed to create your journey:

1. Navigating to the left-hand menu and clicking on Journeys.


2. Select the green SMS Journey trigger.


3. Click the SMS inbound trigger and select Save triggers - this makes it so that it will trigger the journey every time an inbound SMS is received.


4. Click on the (+) icon.


5. Click the red f(x) Icon and type/select Send email or SMS action, depending on how you would like your agent notified.

6. Select the template and user who it should be sent from.


7. Once you have completed these steps, give your journey a name and activate it.

From now on, every time you receive an inbound SMS, this journey will trigger and send an email or SMS to notify you that an inbound SMS has been received, with the Lead ID included.
