Field groups: How to create fields hidden for users

Use Field groups to create restricted fields visible only to selected teams.

To create or edit fields and field groups, you must either be an Administrator or have the Settings permission.

All information stored on Contacts and Leads in Adversus is kept in Fields. By default, all fields are visible to any user who has access to view the lead.

However, there may be situations where you want to store information on your leads that should not be visible to all agents. In these cases, you can use Field Groups to restrict access to specific fields, making them visible only to users with the appropriate permissions.

Creating a New Field Group

  1. Go to Settings → Account → Fields → Contact Fields

  2. Click Create and select Create Field Group.

  3. Enter a name for your new field group.

  4. Select the team or teams that should have access to the fields in this field group, then click Create.

Your new field group has now been created. The next step is to assign fields to it.

Adding Fields to a Field Group

  1. Open an existing field or create a new one.

  2. In the field settings, locate the Group option and select the field group you just created.

  3. Click Update to save your changes.

The field now belongs to the selected field group and is only visible to Administrators and users who are members of the teams assigned to that field group.

You can also assign multiple fields to a field group at once. In the Field Settings, filter the fields you want to update and use the Update Field Group bulk action.

Use Cases

Field Groups allow you to control who has access to information stored in specific fields.

For example, you could create a field group called Manager Fields and add fields visible only to managers.

One example could be a Lead Score field, where your lead provider assigns a quality rating to each lead. This information may be valuable for managers but is not something you want agents to see.

You could also restrict fields containing information such as:

  • Lead cost

  • Lead supplier

  • Lead creation date

  • Other internal or reporting-related information

These details can be useful for reporting and analyzing lead performance, but they are often not relevant for agents making outbound calls.

Field Groups can also be used to give different teams access to different information. For example, you may want agents to see information that meeting consultants do not need access to, or vice versa.
